Introduction to Year 1

In order to support the transition from Reception EYFS to Year 1, we have created a Welcome to year 1 booklet. This contains some information and frequently asked questions to ensure that you and your child have a smooth transition to us in September.
This information will also be available during the open classroom afternoon today from 3:30pm- 4:30pm. We do appreciate that not all parents and care givers can attend today, so we have also included all the information in the handbook linked below.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact any member of the year 1 Team by emailing year1@muxtonprimary.co.uk and we will do our best to answer any questions you may have.
Please find a copy of the information that will be shared shared during the open classroom here: Introduction to year 1 Information for parents

We are very much looking forward to meeting you all in September!

Year 2 news from Laches Wood

Good evening everyone!

All is well here at Laches Wood.
We’re having a super-busy day and the weather is just perfect.

We’ve had pond studies, shelter building, toasting marshmallows round the fire and rock climbing.
We’re just getting ready for our evening meal (pizza!) and then outdoors for a campfire before hot chocolate and then…….bedtime!

The children are having lots of fun making us extremely proud.

With best wishes,
Mrs Shah, Mr Draper, Mrs Coe, Mrs Hall and Mrs Pritchard

Year 2 Homework

This week in our Maths learning we have been reading scales. For your homework please choose 5 objects from around your home. Estimate (this means have a good guess) how heavy each object will be in grams. Then place the object on the scales to see how much they actually weigh. Record your answers on the sheet in your homework book.

You can also find a copy of the activity by clicking on the link here:
