Y6 Performance/End of Year

After a long, hot but incredibly enjoyable day at GoApe, we go again tomorrow for the performance. Last push before transition!

The children are to come to school in normal school uniform and change into outfits, in school, tomorrow ready for dress rehearsal in preparation in the morning. After 2pm performance at roughly 3.30pm, children can go home, have food and get ready to return to school at 5.30pm ready to prepare for the 6pm performance. Children can be collected/go home with parents from this performance if parents are watching or can be collected at roughly 7.30pm after it has finished.

For our final few days, we will be doing leavers books, award ceremonies and obviously water fights in the afternoon (see letter attached with children). In addition to this, children are able to bring back old jumpers or cardigans to sign and write on as an extra leavers treat for the final day.

Let us know via Year 6 email if there are any questions about the final two days.

Two days left! #notears  #onwardsandupwards

Year 6 Performance Postponed

Parents/Guardians,

With the performance date coming closer and the predicted temperatures likely to hit highs of 35 degrees on Monday, with regret we have made the decision to move the date of the performance from Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th July. We have waited as long as we can before making this decision to see if the temperatures level off but this doesn’t seem the case. The timings will be the same and all tickets given out to the children will be be valid for this performance.

We realise that this may be an inconvenience to parents who have made arrangements with their work as well as childcare but we are having to make this decision for the safety of the children and the audience during the performance itself. Temperatures in the hall with 60 children and upwards of 85 adults will become a problem after sitting in the hall for a sustained period of time. We have already experienced issues with children this week become faint/overheated with relatively moderate temperatures compared with those predicted for next week.

We apologise for any inconvenience but we would much rather postpone the performance to an alternative date rather than cancel altogether.

Y6 involvement in EYFS/KS1 Sports Day

Parents/Guardians,

The Y6 children will have some involvement as helpers tomorrow for the KS1 sports day in either helping groups of children move from activity or running an activity itself alongside a member of staff.

If your child is escorting a group of KS1 children around the field, they are more than welcome to wear a coloured top for the house that they are in. If your child is supporting an activity, could they please wear their expected PE kit of plain white t-shirt and black/navy shorts.

All children have been told about their involvement in sports day so they should know.

Many thanks,

Mr Bailey
