Mini Medics – price update

Mini Medics is designed for children who will be in KS2 this September so it is open to children currently in year 2, 3, 4 and 5. The course gives children the confidence to perform and understand the basic First Aid methods that could help a friend or someone who is in need of First Aid. The Mini Medics scheme is run by an external provider.

When will it run: There are 5 sessions. The course will start on Wednesday 14th September and run weekly until the final session which takes place Wednesday 12th October. It will take place at the end of the school day and each session lasts for one hour.

The prices are as follows:

The after school club is delivered over 5 weeks for 1 hour each week. The total cost is £20 for the 5 week course.  Apologies for the original misquoted price!

The children receive a Mini Medic book, pen and certificate at the end of the course. The course can accommodate up to 30 children.

Miss Leech’s class P.E next week

Due to our trip next Thursday, Miss Leech’s class will be having their P.E session on Monday 11th next week. Please can the children come into school in their P.E kits on Monday and just a reminder to come in their sport’s day kit on Tuesday. Normal school uniform will be worn on Thursday for both classes for the trip.

Year 5 Trip to Mosque

Year 5 Trip to Telford Central Mosque

Dear Parents,

As part of our work in R.E, we have been learning about how different religions worship. To support this work, we have planned a trip to Telford Central Mosque in Wellington to explore the Islamic religion on Thursday 14th July 2022.

We will be travelling by coach, leaving at 9.10am and returning to school in time for lunch. Children will have their lunch in school as usual. Children will need to wear their full school uniform with suitable shoes. (Miss Leech’s class will have a different P.E session that week, confirmed closer to the date). Girls may bring their own head scarf to wear in the mosque – one will be provided for those that do not.

There is NO charge for this trip, however you need to give permission via your child’s SCOPAY account for them to take part.

Sports days: Reception and KS1 – Tuesday 5th July. KS2 – Tuesday 12th July

Sports day information

Reception/KS1 Sports Day: Tuesday 5th July 2022   Start Time: 9.30am

KS2 Sports Day: Tuesday 12th July 2022    Start Time: 9.30am

Spectators are welcome to arrive on the field from 9:15am. It will be lovely to have your support! With the number of Covid cases on the rise, we would be grateful if spectators could wait on the field by the fence nearest to Muxton Extra where this is plenty of space to spread out.

Both sports days should finish around 11am but again, these can run over given the nature of the events and how many children we have participating.

The schedule of our sports day will continue to be a carousel of activities, and, if enough time, we will endeavour to hold a more competitive element of races too!

For each sports day, we would love to see the children wear the colour of their house in the form of a t-shirt so that all groups can be easily recognised and each child can see they are representing their house. Don’t worry too much if this isn’t possible, wear as close to the colour or just a normal white PE top.

Please provide your child with a water bottle and a sun hat. If required please make sure that your child has sun cream applied in the morning before they leave for school.

You are welcome to take pictures and video clips of your child but please do not add them to any social media. We are not able to guarantee that siblings are in the same house but they will be able to support each other where possible and we will endeavour to make time for photos with a sibling too.

We look forward to holding an enjoyable sports day for all children and parents to be a part of!

Mrs Moreton’s PE Sessions for the Next Two Tuesdays

Dear All,

As some of you might be aware KS1 (5th July) and KS2 (12th July) are on the following two Tuesdays during the time my class would normally be doing PE.

Therefore the session has been moved and the class will have their PE lesson on Friday for the following two weeks. So please come into school wearing your PE kit.

On Tuesday 5th July please come into school in normal uniform. On Tuesday 12th July please wear your PE kit with the appropriate colour top for your house.
