Lee George

Chair of Governors

I have been a Parent Governor since February 2020. Being a Governor is a huge privilege and I am passionate about ensuring that all children reach their full potential and feel safe and happy during their time at Muxton Primary School.

I live in Muxton and my two daughters attend the school in Key Stage 2.  I have 19 years’ experience in healthcare in the areas of quality, risk, governance, regulation and compliance.

I’m always happy to have a chat so if you see me around and want to ask me anything, feel free. Alternatively, you can contact me via the school office.

Kevin McNamara

Vice-Chair of Governors

I’m a co-opted governor of Muxton Primary School and the current Chair. I have been a governor here since 2010. All three of my children have attended Muxton Primary School.

I co-own and run a midlands-based recruitment business and have been involved in the recruitment industry for over 20 years. This includes a number of senior management positions within public sector procurement.

Judy Bailey

Co-opted Governor

I have worked as School Business Manager in both secondary and primary sector schools over the past 15 years and have in depth knowledge of financial planning and budgets. I previously worked for a National Governing Body of Sport and in Local Authority Leisure departments before transferring to the education sector.

Jenny Pritchard B.Ed. (Hons.)

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of such a happy, vibrant and successful primary school. Since beginning my teaching career here in 1997, I have seen the school grow and change into a very special and unique place with talented and dedicated staff working hard to secure the very best outcomes for all children.

For many years, I was the SENCo at Muxton and have a particular passion and interest in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.

The current leadership team includes a very skilled and committed team of governors who have a clear and ambitious vision for our school.

Matthew Cole

Co-Opted Governor

I am the Dealer Principal and Co-Director of a local motor dealership based in Telford and Shrewsbury, a position I have held for the last 12 years. Prior to this I occupied various positions in the sales department of the same company and I am now in my 30th year of employment with them.

I have lived in Muxton for 14 years and I am married with four daughters – twins who have recently graduated from University in Worcester and Chester, a step daughter who is at 6th Form at Thomas Telford and my youngest who left Year 6 in July 2019.

I joined the team of Governors at Muxton in 2017. I aim to offer an alternative view on relevant subjects using my experiences gained whilst running my own business and in my dealings with the general public.

Leah Bailey

Co-Opted Governor

I have worked within the childcare sector for 24 years. I have worked here on the site at Muxton for 18 years. Firstly as out of school provision manager, SENDCO and safeguarding lead.

In 2013, I decided to expand and invested in ‘The Learning Tree’ pre-school. The pre-school has gone from strength to strength as the main nursery provider here at Muxton Primary. The nursery provides care for children aged 2.5 years to school age, at which point most transfer to Muxton Primary. This is, in part, due to the excellent links we have built with the Early Years staff at school. Due to my background, my main interest is early years and I’m really keen to build on these relationships by being a governor and supporting the school.

Catherine Worrall

Co-opted Governor

I am a parent governor. I am the parent of two children and both my children attend the school. My eldest child has autism. I would like to use my experience and knowledge of being a parent to a child with additional needs to represent children who have special educational needs at Muxton Primary School. I’m committed and passionate about ensuring that every child has access to the right education, and that their specific needs are met.

My background is in environmental science. I have BSc (hons) in Physical Geography and a MSc in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems. I have worked in both the public and private sector. I volunteered for 7 years as an assistant Cub Scout leader.

Ann Davies

Staff Governor

I am a staff governor and proud to be the Assistant Headteacher, SENCo and a part of the Year 1 teaching team at Muxton Primary School. I first worked in education as a Teaching Assistant, later completing a B.Ed. (Hons) to become a primary school teacher.

My earlier experiences of working in education greatly contributed to my passion for supporting pupils with additional needs. This led me to complete my P.G.C.E National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) in 2013.

I am committed to ensuring the curriculum in school is accessible to all our pupils, whether that be through reasonable adjustments, adaptations and modifications or a more specific programme linked to particular, individual needs. I have recently joined the team of governors and I am excited to be a part of a team who have a clear vision for our school and are invested in ensuring all pupils achieve.
