Dear Parents / Carers
Please could we emphasise the importance of supervising and monitoring children’s behaviour on the school grounds before and after school. School staff are not responsible for supervising children at these times.
The nets on our football posts have been damaged due to children climbing and swinging on them which, as well as the cost to school to repair the damage, is an obvious safety risk.
Whilst we are happy for children and parents to use the field as an ‘overspill’ for the main pathways, children should not be running, cycling or playing on the field, especially in our Forest School area.
A reminder of our start and finish times is below. We appreciate that there are may be one-off circumstances where you may be late in dropping off and collecting children and we will, of course, do our best to support at these times. However, please be mindful of the disruption that late arrivals cause when staff are working hard to get the busy routines of school underway.
Start of the school day:
Children should not be arriving early and left unsupervised before the start of school.
End of the school day:
It is important that all of our children have smooth, safe and happy transitions to and from school so I very much appreciate your support in all of the above.
Best wishes,
Mrs Pritchard
Well what a fabulous time we had at the Young Voices concert in Birmingham yesterday! Our children were an absolute credit to the school and we are extremely proud of them all. They coped admirably with coming into school today and letting us know how much they had enjoyed the whole experience. The sheer scale of the event was an eye opener for many of the children along with the volume of sound but they sang their hearts out and showed how much they have learned from Mrs Price during rehearsals.
I would also like to say a special thank you to Mrs Price who has fostered such enthusiasm for music across the school. We are fortunate to have dedicated, specialist music provision at Muxton and our children benefit so much from Mrs Price’s sessions.
Thank you too to Miss Leech, Mrs Beech and Mrs Poole for accompanying the children, singing their hearts out and for coming in the next day still smiling after a late finish! We also value all of our parental support too as we know that everyday life schedules can be hectic and a late Thursday night can be challenging to accommodate. Thank you for helping your children to rehearse their songs and enjoy their musical moment!
After half-term we will be offering further places in the choir for children who are interested; we hope to perform to other audiences although perhaps not at the same size venue! This will be after half-term as choir is not on next Thursday. Don’t forget there is a PD day on Friday 27th May so Thursday 26th May is the last day of this half-term.
Some of the acts that our children performed with can be seen here:
Young Voices have released a teaser trailer showing highlights of the night. You can view it here.
They have also made a video available that can be purchased here.
